View Full Version : PC Explanation's Section
How about a section that explains some of the common misconceptions and difference between things, ie how when you buy a 500gb HDD it shows as a 465gb HDD (Metric V 8bit), or the difference between 1080i and p etc.
lets not get too hung up on details but what dabs customers really want is to understand key technologies in all areas, this is helpful when looking at a range of products
How about some solutions threads. I have a sky wireless router but the range is pants. I am trying to find some gaget that will boost the range, ideally connecting wirelessly to the router..I looked at repeater, etc. but there is soooo much stuff to read, it's just confuses me more... I bet there are more people like me with the same basic questions.
We're hoping to include more of these sorts of things as we go along. We've already got the How to install a hard drive (http://www.dabs.com/forum/showthread.php/159-Guide-How-to-install-a-new-Hard-Drive) section and we'll adding to this over time.
Obviously, any suggestions for other 'How to...'s, etc. are much appreciated, so drop them in here and we'll do our best.
As for an FAQ section, Manitou, that sounds like a great idea. Again, it's probably something we'd have to build up over time but I'll see what we can do. In the mean time, and this is not my area of expertise so don't take my word for it, but what about something like the D-Link RangeBooster N USB Adapter (http://www.dabs.com/products/d-link-rangebooster-n-usb-adapter-4K6F.html)? It's not ideal, as it sounds like it's the router itself that you want to boost, but if it's a particular laptop or desktop that you're struggling to get hooked up to your wi-fi signal it might do the job.
Manitou,hi m8 post your router type in the link below we can have a look en give you some pointers, also could you include your operating system type pls
