View Full Version : Order - SO02390559 [PLEASE RESPOND]
Alright, hi there. I was just recently looking around the net for various items and I came across 'dabs' and noticed some pretty low prices. So, as you do, you order things...
I ordered my item on the 24th and it said it takes 1-3 days to come after it's been processed, but after reading various threads and reviews, it seems that 'dabs' doesn't seem to reputable in terms of delivering the items; as a result of using dodgy couriers.
I have a few questions:
How long does the 'Processing' period take?
If the item appears to be taking too long, would you allow me to cancel my order and get a refund?
I'd appreciate a hasty response.
Let's keep things in context here, the forum see's on a bad day maybe 10 people who are having a problem. Dabs deal with thousands of orders a day, so to say they are not reputable is not particularly fair. The dodgy couriers that Dabs use are Parcelforce, Royal Mail, DHL and I think one or two other dodgy major worldwide couriers. Dodgy is a relative thing, if you receive the goods they were fine, if you don't they are dodgy. So far, disreputable Dabs, and it's dodgy couriers have managed to get my thousands of pounds of gear to me just fine.
The processing period varies, if it's the first time using a card for example they will do a security check or if it's order on request it will take an extra day or day for it to arrive from their suppliers. I can't answer regards cancelling or refunds as it's not something I've had to do, so Dabs or someone who'e done it will need to answer that.
@ OP I made my first major purchase with dabs last week it took about 2 full business days to process, and I was fine with this. I would think your payment will be fully processed by the lastest tomorrow. Then depending on where you are a day for delivery at least. As far as Cmdrx3 is saying with the courier I couldn't agree more, yeah people have had bad experiences with the "dodgy couriers" but I don't think I've been on one website where the courier service quality hasn't been questioned. My advice keep your pants on you'll have it soon enough.
edit - forgot to mention I put my order in on the 20th and got it on the 25th and dabs don't work weekends. I would have got it on the 24th except torrential rain here made the courier go home early lol. So at this point I couldn't recommend dabs more!
My experience... I've been using dabs for 7+ years and never had a problem. I've just put an order in last week which included 4 'Ordered on Request' items, one of which is extremly new to the site. Just checked and this order was placed on the 24th too. As of Thursday all but one item was allocated and I still had the option to cancel individual items or the whole order. The item still being processed turned out to be something I didn't care about and in hind-sight was not suitable for what I wanted so I cancelled that item and there and then and the whole delivery has now been dispatched.
I also placed an order last month for some RAM on a Friday which was 'Ordered on Request' and arrived on the next Tuesday, which was the delivery date I chose (for some reason they were able to given me the option on that order).
I also called in to their call centre at around 17:10 thinking I'd never get through to someone based on what other forum complainers are saying but the call was answered in less than 5 minutes and dealt with perfectly.
The best thing to do is call them (check out saynoto0870, hint to some) and ask them if they can give estimated delivery dates for the parts you want, if they seem good enough for you then you're golden, just bare in mind that the dates are subject to change as they are provided by other suppliers and the manufacturers depending on the item in question and Dabs has no control over them.
I see you've cancelled your order the day after you placed it, but FYI - the processing period is as long as it takes up until we receive payment. If it's in stock and your card clears it can be minutes (seconds if you realise you've made a mistake and want to cancel your order!) If it's out of stcok, it's processing until we get your item.
The particular item you wanted is in stock at our suppliers so your're looking at approx 3 days - depending on what time you place the order it goes like this: You place order > we place order with supplier > item gets delivered here > item gets booked in > item gets allocated to your order > bank contacted for payment > payment accepted > item begins conveyor belt journey > item leaves warehouse onto a courier van > parcel goes to your nearest depot > parcel goes out for delivery > parcel delivered to happy customer :) Not bad for 3 days. Obviously if it's not in stock there's a delay in this process
btw no money is taken until your order is ready to despatch up until which time you can cancel your order
