View Full Version : Just for fun: Most expensive computer possible on Dabs, and cheapest.
So, what's the most expensive overkill beast of a machine you can make on dabs and how much does it cost? Also, for the sake of it, what's the cheapest possible thing you can call a computer you can make on dabs?
Just for fun!
well i think i have toe most expensive machine. it cost 15000 euro but sadly never got build due to work complications (i got the sack). here is the link to the post with it http://www.dabs.com/forum/showthread.php/1607-Expensive-Design-Build
Technically we could have gone more expensive if we switched to Xeon processors
ya but then technically they are not computers, they are servers. sorry to be smart buts it the truth
ok so just for smartness sake, to annoy 2020. i have found a build that will cost 200000 euro. :)
haha i will post links in a while.
Xeon's aren't just servers they are used for epic CAD computers and some idiots even turn them into gaming PC's (thats right 32 cores used to play games that can't use more than 4), type in SR-2 for youtube it's an evga motherboard and there are a lot of people using it to make 4 way 580 sli machines.
The original description was an overkill beast of a machine and you could make that for 4k easy
and now the big money network memory kit
all togeather that comes to 224,967euro and 97 cent.
i think that may be made a bit more expensive with a cad programe and adobe and a few others... beat that 2020. only idiots use xeon for gaming.
But you forgot the monitor (http://www.dabs.ie/products/nec-82--1920x1080-black-722G.html?q=a&src=16)
Erm I could point out the HDD's won't work with that motherboard, and that you will never get a dual processor board in a Silverstone Raven :p but it is expensive enough although you could build more powerful for like i say 4-5k :p, oh and he forgot monitor cause as there is no graphics card the machine wont need them :D

Way over the 5k target but would be an amazing machine about £8700 sure Dunc could get it down to 5k :p
ok so if you whant to go down that road and have ultimate power and a usable gaming machine, let me see

all that comes to 12085 euro. beat that 2020. and im sure dunc would bring it down to 10k
I prefer mine :p plus 10tb for a gaming machine that's about 600 games and my graphics cards would crush yours :D 850mhz clocks.
So then, what's the cheapest PC you can make? And making the price higher on the expensive PC by buying software seems like you're cheating :).
nah cuz u need softwear also
D: I would certainly like any of these machines... Not too sure how Windows would handle it though. :P
