View Full Version : Corsair Vengeance 1500 Dolby 7.1 USB Gaming Headset
Hi chaps, can someone from dabs tell me if this item is in stock or not? It says "Usually dispatched within 3 working days" so I duno if you have them or i would have to wait 3 days for you to get them in stock.
Really need a new headset and was looking at the one above, if it's not in stock can somebody recommend a good surround headset for a similar price or a little more expensive.
Well it may sound weird but I have found that these (http://www.dabs.ie/products/creative-hs-800-fatal1ty-pro-series-gaming-headset-4JCM.html?src=3) are amazing for the price may not look amazing but they have very nice clean audio good bass and a very clear mic. I have tried an older Corsair headset aswell as Sennheiser's Turtle Beach and Razer and while they are very good the only one that sounded better were the Sennheisers (no surprise there) but they cost 100 quid more. As for comfort well last Sunday I pretty much wore them pretty much all day at least 12 hours straight (while doing stuff in garden) took em off no discomfort , and with detachable mic you don't look like a fool doing gardening with em.
I can agree with 2o2o as we used this headset in college. Sound quality is fantastic for the price as well. Only thing i will say about them was that there was a breaking in period for them I found them not so comfortable at the beginning and very tight, especially when just hanging around your neck. But once they are broken in they are great! took about 2-4 weeks to break in at 2 to 3 hours a day which is fine... I can't speak for 2o2o if he had the same issue but for me it was like that
I did have a similar problem but it was pretty much broken in after a 6 hours gaming session on a day off so only took that day they literally came out the box that morning :p
If I'm not mistaken, the 'Usually dispatched in x days' basically means they order it from their supplier when a customer places an order. personally I've not had problems with these before, but I've heard others have been delayed before. It may be worth contacting Dab's Customer Service team to get them to confirm that the supplier ahs them in stock before ordering.
As for what the others have recommended, bare in mind that they are a Stereo headset so you'll need to ask youself is the 7.1 is really needed too (I'm sure you've already done this). If you've got any friends that have surround headsets, see if you can borrow/test them first, even if they're different brands, just to see if you can actually benefit from the surround sound and identify if the sound does seem to be coming form where you're expecting it to. Some people, like myself still have problems when their ears are covered and in most part I've not found a headset that can help me identify that a sound is coming from my "5 o'clock" instead of just 'to the right.'
