View Full Version : Forum mods
Hey dabs, i was wondering, can i become a forum mod
Well for one probably because you broke one of the most fundamental rules of forum etiquette.... you asked.
There are others members on here with both numbers of posts and helpful advice far in excess of what you have yet managed. Not once, anywhere, at any point has a single one of them asked to be a moderator or admin. If in the event (and I speak from personal experience) a moderator was required, they will approach you, but you will only ever be approached if you are a highly trusted individual who has proven to be helpful, courteous and are willing to invest the time it would take (which isn't so much time in the case of the Dabs forums at this point).
In the case of a forum attached to a commercial business this is 1000 times the case, as they are effectively entrusting their customer service and reputation as a company in the hands of someone they neither know personally or who is financially committed to them in the form of a paid position.
As far as I'm aware there is only one non Dabs employee who is a moderator and that is Cerberus. I don't know the hows and whys of him becoming a moderator and it's really neither of any concern to me or in fact any of my business, but with the little traffic Dabs currently gets on the forum I find it highly unlikely they will require any new moderators for some time. By that time. if you are still about maybe you will find yourself in the position that they would approach you.
Interview Question Number 1: For what reason have you applied for the position of forum moderator and what do you feel you have to offer?
without wishing to seem unkind, I did have to chuckle at Phil's brief yet forthright response!
It would be nice to expand to the point that they were needed :p
well, thank you cmd for the long response, it was highly detailed........................................
Well, I didn't want to seem like I was simply being rude in the first sentence :-)
Well i quite taught that the first sentance summed up the rest of it in a nutshell, not at all being rude
