View Full Version : CPU Bundle Not Passing Post.
Brand new I7 930 with motherboard bundle. 349.96 one.
I know enough about comps but when i have put all together will not pass post, think its the cpu or power supply. Any ideas would be great to determin whats the failure.
Thanks in advance
P.S very quick comment as im shattered.
Best way to start is disconnect HDD's, and all other drives, remove all but 1 RAM stick, check graphics card is seated properly remove any other expansion cards, then test if it fails first time try a second stick of RAM in a different slot removing the first (unless you got the memok board then press the button to test). Make sure the case front panel header's are connected to their correct locations and check the power connectors to the board and graphics card. Those tips aren't exactly in order I'm just typing as I think of them, check the basics power supply turned on and power switch on (we all do it) and if not get back to us with more info on what exactly is happening when you press the power button.
Have tried the basics as you have stated. No graphics on monitor, no bios start up. I only have a 650W power supply, 6 gig kingston ddr3 nvidia 275 and the basic cpu cooler which aint very good. western digital cavier black sata 3 transfer rate 6 gig hdd. I thinks its either cpu cooler or power supply. Could i be right?
When you press the power button do the fans spin at all and does it do anything?
Have you checked for bent pins on CPU
without specs on psu [age/make] cant make decision
specs of bundle here
A mistake I made which was silly (and unlikely that you have made too but worth mentioning):
My bundle wasnt posting. It was a very simple error, the RAM slots run in the opposite direction (right to left) than my previous board. Just be sure out of tiredness you aren't testing the left side slots.
