I totally agree with Stakker but don't think they'll be any posts removed from the comp even if they are just one or two words.
I think it would have made more sense to just have one competition entry per first post that way the people who are here to stay will only make posts worth reading and the rest will just leave one waste of time post.
I've already seen a couple of people with loads of posts basically saying nothing and some only a few words, can't say much useful in 2 or 3 words.
I joined this forum because of the comps, I am not a techie but enjoying reading the information presented by people who know what they are talking about. I was also to ask for information about my broadband and had fun chatting to some other Blizzard fans.
The thing with these types of competitions is they will lure some in until the draw is done, who will never be back, or you might meet a new community of people who will be thankful for technical advice and tips, and may end up being customers.
Dabs forum will be really interesting I think, the place can be daunting for PC newbies so a forum is a great idea and source of help.
Hi there. I've joined because of the comp too but I fall into the category dabs will have created the comp for: join for the comp, stay for the benefits of the forum. Whether I post a lot or not remains to be seen but hopefully I'll find reasons to contribute.
I'm sure dabs aren't naive enough to imagine everyone who joins to enter the comp will become an active poster - it's simply a way to boost membership. Once the comp has ended, things will no doubt settle down.

Yup, I guess making a post to say you are only here for the competition, and those agreeing that they are only here for the competition won't be in the competition.
I really doubt that.

Please moderators correct me if I'm wrong though.
Let's face it I'm sure it's occurred to more than a few people that they can get dozens of competition entries by just quoting a previous post and saying 'yep' or even less than that.
Why they didn't just make it one entry when you join I don't know.
Hell, I'm seriously tempted to just keep clicking the 'Quick Reply' button.
The general idea of the Dabs forum is open discussions regarding most topics relating to Dabs or any type of pc/console/hardware/new products or to sum up anythin really. The comp was started to open the forum and get it going thats why the winner was taken from a token system relating to forum posts....what better way to get a forum going.
More possible comps will follow as with the ongoing special offers within the forums.
Im here for the comps and community :)
