EVGA GTX 560TI Crysis 2 Card SLI question

    Hi All,

    First Post so be gentle!

Can anyone tell me, if I wanted to SLI this card, would I need the exact same version of this card to do so, or could I just get an EVGA GTX 560 ti??

No. You wouldn't need the exact version but have a look here for more detailed answers. Under "Technology and configuration" have a look at the "Can I mix..." topics.

Working out what to buy is the most difficult bit - putting it together is a relative breeze. What's your full spec?

Only thing I would change is the motherboard Z68 ftw
    Sys 1
    Intel i7 930 @ 2.2ghz (thats right underclocked) / 6GB RAM / GTX 460 1gb / Silverstone FT-02
    Sys 2
    Intel E6600 @ 4.12ghz / 8gb RAM / GTX 460 1gb / Coolermaster HAF X (First Version) / Raid 0 Vertex 2 SSD

    Whats the difference between them?

The motherboard has just arrived, is it worth returning? Is the z68 newer?

    Would it be this one?

    Its cheaper!!

The main differences are the ability to use an SSD as a cache drive and slightly faster video encoding with the right software it's not really worth changing boards for. It can use the onchip graphics in the intel processor too though which has it's uses.

This gives an idea of the main differences. Personally, if I had a P67 board in my hand, I would want to be getting on with the build. The Z68 is definitely an improvement but you will need to have a think as to whether the couple of extra features are actually worth sending the P67 back, waiting for a refund, re-ordering etc.

Nice build. The PSU is overkill for a single GPU system but, seeing as you are planning to go SLI at some point, it is a sensible bit of future proofing. Only other thing worth mentioning is that, if you plan to overclock the CPU, you will want to look at getting a third-party CPU cooler.
