god awful service from dabs
god help anyone who uses this company.
il begin with the web site stating my solid state drive would be in stock in 1-3 days , 8 days later i got bored of waiting and removed this order since it was a compleate load of rubish that it will be arriving within 3 days
so......my order gets shipped, and some arrives ,not everything is there though , infact a graphics card i payed 200£ for which has been taken from my account , isnt in the delivery ,even though its in the delivery note, i email them and im re-embursed , i take a look at there site and see the graphics card......whilst iv been waiting for the ssd to come in has gone off offer , so even though i payed for the item while it was on offer it was taken from my delivery, and then it was me who had to chase them for re-embursment
so then my chasis arrives , the pacaging is perfect, the styrofone is perfect and holds its so well it takes 2 grown men to get the chassis out of the box , soooo.... how has the internal parts of the chasis been shattered , its because its a b-grade product , iv been charged for a full product . and im still waiting for this issue to be resolved even after 8 emails.
now after 3 days shy of a whole month waiting for my monitor it has arrived, soaking wet and damaged
well done dabs

Wow seems like your really unlucky
and what is weird is that it does happen but if it happens to the same person in a short period of time its even worse. Hope everything gets sorted soon for you mate! Luckily I haven't had an experience like that with Dabs or any other deliveries...

WoW that sucks! Never had a problem with Dabs, been buying from them for nearly 6 years now (on a different account, only just registered for the forum today).
I know this probably won't help at all, but could you not have asked for a replacement Graphics Card when you were getting the refund?
And with the case, it's the easy thing to do but may be a bit harsh blaming Dabs. Was it a Dabs branded product or supplied by another company (most likely). It's possible Dabs had no knowledge of the issue as I doubt they do the quality control side of things, unless it's obvious when it arrives at their warehouse, so probably had no idea there was anything wrong. This does happen and it's an unfortunate affect of mass production and delivery staff who may not care about what happens to a package (nothing personal to any delivery personel).
The delay in getting the issue resolved does kinda suck but I've had far worse experiences from another Electronics Buyer.company that have changed my orders or completely cancelled them for really random and silly reasons.
Finger's crossed it all gets sorted.

yeah it isnt great ,
and i do know what you meen dreaming sheep,
i too have used them, although not for building whole pc's but for bits and bobs over the last 6 years .
the graphics card was quite odd since they refunded me instantly the same day id bruaght up the situation, which let me know they had removed the card and still charged me .
as for the case i beleve they sent the b-grade by mistake or because they were taking so long to get in fully functioning chassis , when i spoke to them they immediately told me it was b-grade . all im realy intrested in is paying the b-grade price not the full price . but it seems its going to take another 20 emails.
out of intrest i sent them an email letting them know i wanted to send my soaking wet monitor back on friday morning , and still no response , they will want to courier it back which will take 3 days to arange and a day to take place, at best.
my job takes me away from my hometown and although im not strugling for money i would have been looking at taking a new contract last week, yet im still stuck here with no answers, not even replys to my emails
oh well

I know I'm just adding to your woes and not getting you closer to anything, but I've had worse from Sky :-)
The Mrs and I were due to move into a flat on 7 August last year, so in readiness I did some searching around to see which services I wanted to use and as the flat already had a communal Sky dish and no Virgin lines, being a hospital conversion there was no way anything was allowed to be altered either, I decided on Sky. Walking around a supermarket early July I spotted a Sky sales man and thought, what the hell, be prepared and book it in early, we're only planning on living there for 12 months and I don't want to pay for extra days at the end of the term if we get it after we've moved in.
So speaking to the Sky salesman we agree a package, including FREE HD (confirmed this at least three times and that he wasn't just referring to a HD box), Telephone and Unlimited Broadband. He made a call to their H/O and within a couple of minutes told me that there were no lines available to provide the telephone or broadband. Telling him I would not take any of the packages if they can't provide this and suddenly there was a line available. Three minutes later into writing out a contract he gets a phone call to tell him there's no line available. I'm told to finish my shopping while he sorts it out and a 25 minute walk around later he finds me to tell me there's a line available!?
A contract is drawn up and agreed that because I was not moving in until 7 August that an engineer would be scheduled for the 7th (considering all he would have to do is plug the box in and a standard install on the box). 2/3 August I logged into my Sky account, just being curious to find that there's no sign of a HD package, just a HD box and an engineer has been scheduled for 5 August! Called Sky and they told me that the HD was never included in the offer mentioned to me and that there were no engineers available until the last week of August, lovely! Re-read the contact and it's marked incredibly badly, almost looking like HD was included but after some squinting finding it wasn't.
The day before moving into my Hertfordshire flat, I get a call while I'm in Edinburgh for work to be told that there is a covenant on the estate restricting motorcycles from being parked on the estate (no prizes for guessing the next 3 hours of my life while sitting in the airport).
Moving cancelled, engineer cancelled. So we find another flat (another converted hospital and you've probably stopped reading by now) and we're in the exact same situation, but this time we wait until we've moved in to book an engineer. Moved in and called Sky only to be told that they would need to book a survey of the property to see where they can install my private dish (no idea why they couldn't use the communal dish I've told them about). So I tell them that it's a listed building that already has a communal dish and all I need is to have the box plugged in. NO SIR this would not be possible, I'll need to arrange for a private installation and box at my own expense. Asked if they would send me the free box I get as part of my package and that I would do the install myself (plug in a power cable, HDMI cable and a coaxial/satellite cable from the single feed box next to my TV). NO SIR.
A couple of weeks later I call up and get a Freesat from Sky card and connect to to my dad's old HD box, channel not authorised.
Several months of not using Sky later and multiple calls later to their helpdesk and eventually someone tells me I need to switch the box to Single Feed Mode, hey hey, I've got some channels but none of the 5 channels (ch5, fiver, 5USA...). I'm talked through rebooting the box twice to then be told that there might be a problem with the broadcasting of those channels at the moment. Hang up the phone and manually tune in ch5, all good but it won't appear in my normal EPG, at least it's something.
I also ask to have the previous account closed at this point, solely to get my money back that I paid when I opened the account (£8 or something silly), only to be told be the very nice person that there would be no problem in not having a new dish installed and that they could send my a new box to install myself if I was still interested in keeping my account
.
Account closed after they advised they would not be able to cancel the Telephone (now with BT) and Broadband (now with Be Unlimited) and still provide me with a minimal TV package for free, the cheek!
