Almost but not quite. HDNL acquired the UK domestic parcel operation of DHL only (although that is the bit that is probably most relevant to people on here). And then rebranded as Yodel. The remainder of DHL still exists and is owned by Deutsche Post.

I have never had a problem with DHL (although they may be part of the international DP owned bit) but HDNL themselves over here are completely useless consisting of a rather odious, odourous man in a clapped out Fiesta who holds onto parcels for weeks on end until they are completely saturated by the reek of cigarette smoke. Not very useful when your wife is a textile designer.

Most of the DHL / Yodel packages have been coming to me normally late in the day (8:30PM at one point) and have been getting delivered by Car (not a van!). Which i thought was strange to say the least.

It really depends on what area you live in i find. Although clearly the people who they hire in general does appear to be... in question

Ive been waiting in all day for my items from Dabs (On recommndation from my son i ordered some new toys) got a text message from Yodel aka DHL that they missed me and left a card. Nope NO CARD. Strange. Phoned my son told him what had happened and he informed me that he had to go to some blokes house to pick his parcel up. Alarm bells, have spent the last hour trying to find out if i can pick my own parcel up. I live in Liverpool There's a DHL 10 mins down the road so why has it gone to Manchester? I hope this isn't going to be one of those we tryed again but..... jobs. I'm wasting what i've got left of my days off.

    Angry ANOTHER WASTED DAY WATING!!!!!!!!!!

Phoned Yodel Depot just down the road from me to see if they could tell me whats happening with my parcel. After the first lot of music twice i actualy got through. "Can you phone back in 40 mins our systems down" Good things to come? Two hours later at 12:02 i actualy got through to speak to somebody. Yes its on its way from MANCHESTER? Why when i live in LIVERPOOL. Should be delivered by 17:00 didn't say what day. Now 17:55 and guess what yes you guessed it not here. Next time i'll pay the postage in stead of getting free post. It's going to cost 3 days of my hols.

Now the question is do i eat humble pie or take something for the shock. My parcel actually arrived at 18:40 the parcel was a bit worse for wear as the driver had to reseal the box. The box with my new fan is dented hopefuly that will still work. I still wasted 2 days waiting in. Thanks to the driver for working late. I'll let you know if everything works fingers crossed.

    Yodel are awful.
The thing is there failure never gets back to Dabs (or ******... etc for that matter!). Because the drivers lie and say they tried to deliver, when in fact they never even tried.
It's frustrating that there is no way to find out which driver is lying / doesn't have time / can't be bothered to deliver and complain about them.
I even use the 'longer postage' time on Dabs in the hope that it will get sent by royal mail - to no avail sometimes.
    Please don't use Yodel
    (and always complain about them!)
