This might be a bit of a silly question, but i'm about to buy a new build an hope to use a 60GB SSD for Smart Response Technology.

Thing is I've never set up RAID before so.... If I only buy one 1T HDD, can I set up RAID with this, install my OS on it, then use the SSD for Smart Response... and then also still use my old HDD's in normal SATA mode or something?

Or do I have to use RAID for all HDD attached to MOBO? Making my old HDD useless.
(I have data on my old HDD which I need to keep)

oh... I suppose i'm talking about RAID 0, as this gives best performance?
