    Best Games of 2011?

Yeah, I know it's a bit early, but I thought we should get the ball rolling.

With Batman having just been released (got my copy in my bag...), Skyrim in a few weeks, El Shaddai behind us and Mass Effect/Portal 2 and LA Noire distant memories, what has been you (console) highlight?

And by the way, it's down to a coin toss with me. LA Noire on the one side and Portal 2 on the other. WHAT DO YOU MEAN THEY'RE OBVIOUS!?

Could all change in a few weeks though...

    Level 58 on Forza 4,

Skyrim for me all the way best game of the year by far and it isn't even out yet. The pre-orders alone are topping most games total sales already.

I'm a PC Gamer so I can't give you a console game, but by this time next week I'm anticipating saying Battlefield 3 for the PC is the best game of 2011... and F1 2011 (when I eventually get around to actually buying it). I could say CoDMW3, but I'm anticipating that will be almost exactly like the three that came before it with little to add.

Enjoying Rage although it will never be up for game of the year not with nightmare of drivers, for me I think and hope it will be Skyrim, BF3 looks decidedly dull but then it's a general view I have of all games that are pick up gun point and shoot and nothing more . Up till now though the best game is Portal 2 although I still believe the custom maps on Portal 1 are considerably better the graphics upgrade was nice and they still had the fun of the original game (so many games get the graphics overhaul then the game itself has had no thought put into it and is just dull)
    Sys 1
    Intel i7 930 @ 2.2ghz (thats right underclocked) / 6GB RAM / GTX 460 1gb / Silverstone FT-02
    Sys 2
    Intel E6600 @ 4.12ghz / 8gb RAM / GTX 460 1gb / Coolermaster HAF X (First Version) / Raid 0 Vertex 2 SSD

As with a few others, I would have said Battlefield 3, but I've been fairly dissapointed with the gameplay in the Beta (feel of the character control/motion) so far. We'll have to see though.

MW3 just seems like it could have been a big DLC, almost the same graphics, same engine but with a new game play mode and levels, that's all. Went back and played Spec Ops on MW2 the other day and I can't stand not being able to destroy a wall or shoot someone hiding behind a chair. At one point I was stuck on a desk because of a tiny, slightly higher than ankle height, piece of glass stopping me going forward but then could move backwards either. The previous round I jumps the desk in the same place and there was no problem (and no, I couldn't destroy the glass panel, even after trying).

Sadly can't say I've been overly excited by the release of any games this year and it's probably the least I've played in the last 8 years. Think the game I've played the most this year is LittleBigPlanet2, although I have about 9 games on my shelf bought over the last 17 months that are still sealed
