New Build - A little help please

If you look on the home page of the forum, it says "Most users ever online was 764, 27-01-12 at 06:13." Seems a little unlikely!

The forum is still relatively new and hasn't managed to reach the critical mass necessary to attract new posters automatically. Ultimately, therefore, the forum needs to have something that draws people in such as using it as the hub for special offers or customer service queries and so forth. But that will take a large level of input from Dabs staff and it has to be said that internal interest really seems to have dropped off over the last 12 months (not seen Matt or Sam on here for ages). It's such a shame since it has been a far friendlier place than certain other more active fora!

Good luck with that, the last two I sent went unanswered as well. It doesn't really surprise me though because other than odd post from Phil the staff are not really interested in their forum either. Twitter seems to get all the traffic, but then that doesn't really take any effort.

Which kind of begs the question... if their own staff can't be bothered to post, why should anyone else be bothered to. I had hopes when I first started coming here that it would turn into a nice helpful friendly community but 4 or 5 posters does not a community make, and when emails that may lead to sales go unanswered you know you're fighting a losing battle.

Sorry to sound like Mr. Negativity here, but I am guessing by the lack of posts from those of us who post (or rather used to post) here pretty regularly that I am not the only one of that opinion. I now seem to visit here less frequently as each week goes by, I'm guessing that by summer I will have stopped visiting entirely.

Still at least DreamingSheep found a new teamspeak channel to hang out in and chat as he whiles away his gaming hours, and it's nice to have you in it sir. I did warn you that it was quite rowdy at times didn't I.... What was that you say...Ohhh I didn't....Oooops!! My bad.

Hi Dunc,

Would you be able to do me a price for the following items. I am as yet undecided whether to opt for the cheaper H61 boards or the newer but more expensive Z68 boards so I would like a price for both (I will be buying two of whichever I choose to go for) There are two different kinds of memory, as one is for me, and I have a Noctua NH-D14 so need the low profile memory, however I will still be buying two of the other high profile vengence. I will also be purchasing two of the Intel i3 2100's as well as well an a Corsair Force GT SSD. I will also have to add about £12 for postage to the final cost so hopefully this time you can give me a better price.

I'm not overly concerned about it Dunc, as I do realise you are very busy and not one of the sales team, but I still hold to the statement that I received no reply. (personally I don't count an auto reply as a reply).

Incidentally, I happened to go with the H61 option, but only because it was never going to be overclocked and the board I eventually went with had USB 3 and SATA 3 on it

This was another order Dabs lost from me, although not because of Dunc I might add (he wasn't back for two more days, excluding the weekend so it would have been too late anyway), but because I would have ended up paying for two postages (no free delivery option to NI again or I would have purchased the other items at Dabs, but in the end I went for 24GB of Mushkin memory, 8GB of Kingston HyperX, an i3 2100 and an i3 2120.

I wasn't making a personal attack on anyone or even Dabs, I was simply making an observation as to the way things seemed to me on the forum.

The name is very simple Cmdr is for Wing Commander (RAF Rank not the game and Wg Cdr doesn't have the same effect). The X3 is from, in my opinion, one of the most stunning gorgeous looking aircraft ever designed, the experimental X-3 Stiletto (even if operationally it was a bit of a t*rd)
