Dabs Breaching their Terms & Conditions

Deciding to post on here, as i've now sent my emai, twice to the suggested emails and have heard nithing back!

    I recently placed an order.

Upon going to checkout i was quoted £245 inc VAT, with free delivery.

I have checked my bank account today and have noticed that £297 has been taken from you for the order.

    Their terms and conditions state the following;

The price of the goods will be as shown on the checkout page of our website when you placed your order. We will charge you this amount.

If we discover an error in the price of the goods that you have ordered we will let you know as soon as possible and give you the option of reconfirming your order at the correct price or cancelling it. If you cancel your order and you have already paid for the goods, then you will receive a full refund.

They have failed to contact me with the correct pricing and havent asked me to reconfirm my order at any point at the correct price.

I have attached screenshots of the price i was oriignally quoted by their website, which clearly shows VAT is included. the order cnfirmation email also stated the same price, as did my banks Authorisation prccess.

As you can see they're in breach of their own terms and conditions, which I do believe is actually illegal.

You might want to blank out your address lest some unscrupulous reader run amok with it.

What were the item(s) you ordered? Was the £245.80 showing on the page above the amount you expected to pay when looking at the individual item pages? The jump seems to be strangely similar to the addition of VAT.

I don't want to sound sceptical or anything and I have no idea what has happened or not, nor am I a member of Dabs staff, but I do find it strangely coincidental that you've got a screenshot of an order that is incomplete but somehow ended up having an error with it (possibly indicating that you’ve either used the back button or attempted to recreate the order for the purpose of this post). What makes it harder for me to believe is that you happen to also have two tabs open for dabs' contacts and terms at the same time. The real critic in me is also thinking about the fact that you've already got paint open which may be there to doctor the image or just to paste the new screenshot into. Also the increase is insanle close to a VAT increase, only a couple of £'s away.

That is just the cynical side of me talking and I'm certain if there is in fact an error with the order Dabs will correct it. Have you tried calling them and speaking to someone, their customer service agents are really good! Just as an extra note to help with your short-term expectations, they're closed on weekends, so check your PM's and call on Monday.

I should also mention that you are not being "quoted" anything when you get to checkout. From a legal standpoint, the important point in the process is when you press the "add" button on the page for the product you are purchasing - when you press that you are offering to pay X amount and are bound legally by that offer should it be accepted within a reasonable period. So the key, as mentioned above, is what was the price on the individual product page?

Not sure of the individual price.

As for the people who think i've actually edited the screenshot above in paint, why would I? Dabs will clearly have a copy of the order that got sent to them.

Anyway, for these people, here is the confirmation email i got off them.

Also, if there was an error with the price, They ate suppose to contact me to tell me this. I thought i was paying the above price of £245, I can't see how they can just take the extra money out of my account without notifying me first.

Like i've said, the screenshot above shows the confirmation of price. The bank authorisation area(After doing checkout) also stated the price above.

NB: you need to be a bit careful with the RAM you have chosen. Sandybridge should be coupled with RAM that is 1.5V max - the one you have is 1.65V. It shouldn't be a problem but you may want to undervolt if the motherboard doesn't do it automatically.

    Prices where including VAT.

Hence on the screenshot it says, total including VAT. If VAT wasn't included it should say Exc VAT.

Those are all exVAT prices. The £297 would have been the total including VAT. Are the goods being shipped to a exVAT jurisdiction? Or did you select the option to display prices exVAT? The prices seem to display correctly on the individual pages. Looks like you have selected exVAT prices but are having them shipped to a incVAT location which, unfortunately, would be your error.
