I'm looking for a new laptop, this time for my daughter with a view to purchasing in the next week. Having bought laptops for both my sons from Dabs over the last 24 months, I'm a bit confused by current pricing insofar as it seems considerably higher than certain other places - that never used to be the case.
My daughter only needs something basic so I was looking at either a Toshiba Satellite C660-2N7 or Compaq Presario CQ57-460EA. These are available elsewhere for £289.99 and £299.99, respectively, and I am referring to proper retail websites, not knock off auction sites! Whereas Dabs pricing is £347.98 for the C660-2N8 (the closest match for the 2N7, differing only through having a B960 CPU instead of B950) and £349.98 for the CQ57-460EA.
Now, I am willing to pay a small premium to go with Dabs since I have a pretty long and positive experience with them. But the price differentials are far too high. In fact, they are pretty ridiculous.
What's going on guys?
