Hey i recently made quite a large order from DAB's in order todo my latest PC build in 2 days time. Now every bit of Hardware i brought i really don't give 2 hoots about updating drivers.
However one item a OCZ 60GB SSD i am quite concerned i might need to update its firmware. As these drives operate in a fixed state i had no wish to plug into my current windows to check or update. My wish was to install windows onto it and then leave in its fixed state for the rest of time.
You know the saying "if its not broke, don't fix it".
Im well aware in the earlier versions (aye im a research kinda guy) of the OCZ Agility 3 series and really any Sandforce SSD their was alot of BSOD errors with sleep booting. Also alot of read/write lag opposed to the actual speeds reported out the factory. I am also very aware these have more then likely all been fixed up since release.
So my question is thus, Shall i expect like ive read that the SSD has the latest Firmware installed ether by Dabs or the Factory themselves. Or should i expect the worlds earliest Firmware and a effort and a half to update it. I really have no problem updating the firmware kinda i just really don't want to. Its a young drive and will be replaced by a 120GB or 300GB SSD in the future. However as im a gamer i need the confidence that the drive itself will function like i expect it to (perfectly). If anyone has purchased a Agility 3 in the last few weeks or if a member of staff could help me out i really would be appreciated. I do the build regardless in mmm 36 hours time. Abit less , around the same time Flash Gordan had to save the world.
The drive was
OCZ Agility 3 60GB SSD
Brand New 2.5" (Yeh im gona adapt it)

Ive had her sitting on the shelf waiting for my other parts to arrive. Moar important i never do builds without latest drivers / bios ready to go from day 1. I have no internet till 35 hours and 50 minutes time. (109 Mbs baby)
=) Any help or advice would be appreciated. As i said im unkeen on pluggin it into my current spec to keep that lovely fixed state. So the first time i see the Firmware will be after i format windows onto it. Then if i go and update firmware on such a thing my instinct would be to reload windows. It also becomes a total ball ache todo after i load windows only onto it. New mobo has no serial jumper controller. IDE whatever cable names i really never cared about i just know where they go and what they do=D. I have 3 new HDD's for the new system but no ability to keep this one as its none sata. I do not want to load windows onto another HDD just to format this SSD and Firmware update it.
Many thanks indeed
