Need Help With Choosing Items
I'm planning to beef up my current gaming system to a more powerful and versatile system, so that it can be upgraded in the future. At the moment I have an old Packard Bell motherboard with an Intel Core i5 650 processor, 8 GB of Ram (even though the motherboard caps at 7), a Sound Blaster 5.1 surround sound card, a standard WLAN card and a Nvidia GTX 560 Ti graphics card.
What I'd like though is the following:
- A Second GTX 560 Ti
- A Motherboard capable of holding two graphics cards and a large amount of RAM
- A Power Supply able to power all of the above
- A Case to hold it all in
If you guys could help me find the best items to buy I'd be very graceful. I'm looking for a cheap but effective build, kind of like the 560 Ti, it's extremely powerful for the price I paid for it.
Thanks for reading!
Could you clarify. From what you have said, I'm not sure whether you are looking to retain the i5 650 so would need a new socket 1156 motherboard. The 650 is fairly decent but it would be worth considering a complete upgrade for a number of reasons not least that 1156 motherboards are more than a little expensive being an end of life product. The other concern would be that the 650 could well bottleneck 2x GTX560s which would rather defeat the object of what you are trying to achieve. An idea of budget would also be useful.

I have a question and some advice.
1.what kind of gaming do you do.for example strategy games require more RAM then other games.
Also my advice is when looking for graphics cards try get 2nd hand, but do be carefull when choosing as ever some people will try to sell faulty ones but i got a good condition AMD Radeond HD 6850 for £72 and it works like a charm.
As ever if you want value for money AMD is the way.
your current pc seems decent anyway so i wouldn't worry about rushing a decision.
hope it helps
