Although I like to think I'm pretty on the ball with most things in tech, when it comes to my music and films I'm pretty old-school. I've got walls full DVDs and CDs and it's starting to become a bit of a nightmare to search through and find what I want.
Basically, I want to transfer it all to digital format and be able to access it easily from my laptop or TV (and ideally my phone when I'm out and about). I want my films to still act like DVDs, so I get a menu at the beginning and can still access the special features, etc. and I want my music with cover art, etc. I'd also like to be able to access them while out and about so I could stream movies to my laptop, or music to my phone, over Wi-Fi while on the train, in a hotel, etc.
Not much of an ask, I know
Anyone got any ideas what the best software/hardware I can get that's going to let me do this?
Would a NAS box with one of these do the job? But then what't the best software to be able catalogue/access everything? And what's the best way of actually getting the films/music from physical format to digital?
Any help would be much appreciated. And there might be a free game download in it for you!?!
