Intel seemed to manage the problem quite well in the end as did the motherboard manufacturers - although the level of service was a bit variable. Ultimately, many of us paid the price of jumping on a new technology bandwagon at the outset which is so often unwise. But the level of disruption is barely worth mentioning - downtime was limited to a couple of days, I was able to plan it in advance and, in any case, we have a number of other PCs to act as substitutes.
