GEM Desktop! We had that on our 0x86 or whatever it was (Whatever the Intel gen was before the almighty 286)

    C64 - Paperboy!
Mastersystem - Populous was a classic, must have been one of the god first strategy games about
PC - The list is endless but the original Warcraft kept me hooked for months, Also Monkey Island and Sensible Soccer deserve a mention

Paperboy, definitely one game I hated with a passion and I just couldn't get into populous although it did spawn a new generation of God games.

I couldn't get into Populous either, could not figure out how to play properly, although it was one of the truly great breakthroughs in gaming.

Our family had an Amstrad cpc 464. I think the most played games were probably:

    Daley Thompson's decathlon

    Chuckie egg

    Skate Crazy

    Monty on the run

I loved Daley Thompsons Decathlon, couldn't have been good for my keyboard though.

I waggled the joystick. Don't think I ever tried bashing buttons instead.

Assault course was another game that had a similar input but that was really hard work and didn't have the great menu animation and music Daley Thompson had.

I had forgotten about Beachy head. We had the Daley Thompson and Beachy Head twin pack.

Beachy Head... Wasn't that a sequel to Raid Over Moscow (or whatever it was called)

Looks like it's made by the same developer. I had never heard of it before though.

I forgot about Kane. Loved that game.

Had both Beach Head and Raid Over Moscow on C64. At the time, they were both brilliant! Come to think of it, I'm sure I found them difficult to complete but looking at them now they seem incredibly slow and straightforward.
