BT Micro – The ‘Office-in-a-Box’ Telephone Solution

The BT Micro System is the premier product for Small businesses, that require broadband communications as well as feature rich voice services and data networking.

BT Micro is a practical, convenient and affordable "office in a box" communications solution for the smaller business. It brings voice, broadband and data communications together in one box with dedicated helpdesk support. The Micro boasts the extensive call handling features you would expect from a telephone system with both wired and mobile DECT extensions (so you can roam on the phone!). But it also includes an integrated ADSL modem (for connection to the internet via broadband), a four port router, a firewall and Wireless LAN capability. And, on top of this, it has the ability to grow to support up to 8 handsets.

The fully featured telephone system has also been designed to exploit Voice over Internet Protocol technology (VoIP), with the capacity to support 2 VoIP 'virtual' phone lines (phone calls made over your broadband connection) in addition to a single standard PSTN line*. All lines work in the same way, regardless of whether they are PSTN or VoIP. The benefit of VoIP lines is their potential to save you money on calls.

Voice Features
Full telephone system, with features including:
o Call Pick-up - you can pick up any incoming call with any handset
o Call Waiting - if all your lines are busy, you will receive notification of another call coming in
o Call Forward - you are able to pass your current call to another extension
o Call Hold - A live call can be paused and the line is muted
o Music on hold - while the phone is on hold, the caller is played music
o Conference - you can conferece with up to 3 line in total, as long as one is an 'internal' call
o Do not disturb - handsets can be set to reject calls, or forward them to voicemail
o Night Service - the system will handle calls either with a generic message, or requesting extension numbers
o Voicemail - 1 system mailbox, up to 10 individual voicemail-boxes, with a total of 30 mins digital recording

*Please note: The BT Micro connects to standard PSTN phone lines only and is not compatible with ISDN, PBX etc. To exploit the VoIP features you will require BT Micro compatible versions of BT Business Broadband and Business Broadband Voice.
