The DigiMemo A502 provides the most natural way of working - using a pen and paper - but digitally recording everything you write or draw. Take the DigiMemo wherever you go and write down whatever you want, digitally storing everything you write (on paper).
The DigiMemo A502 integrates the familiarity of pen-on-paper feel. It's a digital notepad with an electronic inking pen that feels and works as well as a regular pen and paper. It lets you to naturally write as you usually do with a regular pen on paper.
Digitally capture & store everything you write on paper in real time On the road, in class or during meeting, for fun or for work, the DigiMemo A502 instantly captures and stores your notes, ideas, sketches, flowcharts and anything else in digital format in the pad's flash memory or optional CF card, without the use of computers and special papers.
Write through almost 12mm thickness of papers No special papers needed! Utilizing the electromagnetic technology, it lets you put any ordinary paper on the pad and use the inking pen to write directly on the paper. Even if the thickness of papers laid on the pad is 12mm; your handwritten notes can still be captured and stored in the 32MB memory of DigiMemo A502.
Expandable Memory Capacity Depending on the memory size, the DigiMemo A502 is empowered to manage and store up to 999 pages. Its built-in 32MB flash memory can save up to 160 sheets of A5-size paper, completely filled. Additionally, it enables you to increase the memory capacity by a supplemental CF card.

Generally good, but expensive

I quite like it. – it is a gadget that I still use daily. The A5 size is small (the unit is more A4, but the paper has to be A5). Happily the pen takes real refills, and good ones at that The unit is responsive and surprisingly accurate. When plugged into the USB the pen functions are disabled (no teal-time drawing here) and it looks like a flash drive. A small learning curve – it is pen and paper – but need to learn to number your pages. The pen is OK and those refills are smooth to write.. The pen holder on the bottom of the unit is not fit for purpose. -- maybe they expect you to buy the leather folder… To get full benefit you also need MyNotes . Most annoying is that the file format is proprietary. AceCad thought of this; people you send a drawing to can download a free viewer. Here in the real world, feel that If I wanted them to read the file, they would expect me to supply it in a suitable format. It is nice to have, but you could do this with a pen, pad and scanner…

whilst it works for a while, when you change the batteries the special safety feature comes into its own and prevents you from powering up again!
