Excellent machine.

This is a very nice piece of kit. It actually is much nicer out of the box than the photo suggests.
Easy to set up all round - installation, network and internet. Seems reasonably speedy but haven't tried it yet for DVD or a bit of number crunching. First impression is that this is a very good deal. Happy with this so far!

This laptop is great value for money! It does however have some let downs, like for instance, the low amount of ram (256MB), and the hard drive being split into two separate parts, a ACER and ACER DATA drives. The drive being split like this doesn't affect the laptop that much but is still annoying.

very pleased with this machine, it has a nice bright screen and is zippy enough for my purposes (surfing, watching dvds & a little dev. work), my only criticism would be that the speakers are underpowered and quite tinny

Absolutely brilliant buy. Really pleased with this Laptop, buy the Wireless card and then goto Google and buy yourself a new battery. Dabs don't sell them, but they are measured in MaH (Milli-amps per Hour). This laptop comes with a 2200 one, if you buy one from a certain 'laptopshop' you can get one for about £60 which is 4400, in a nutshell, mine now has a 4 hour battery life. The guy who said his pointer stopped working...try FN+F7, it enables it! Seriously, buy this laptop, the value is unbeatable!

These notebooks are excellent value for money, no complaints from me.
To the previous reviewer, the memory at 192mb is normal as your video card is using shared memory, you do have 256mb installed but some is allocated to video memory, you can change the amount in the bios setup.

Absolutely brilliant value for money, bought with case and fits perfectly in it. Only one Cardbus slot but not too much of a problem. Could have done with a bit more RAM to even out the specs but overall definitely worth the money.

I bought one for my partner, after buying myself a P/Bell easy note. Well I was well impressed! Powered up, and completed install. It prompts you to write backup image of the C: drive so have 4 CD’s ready! After completing XP install I found it nicely setup with 2 equal partitions on the drive. The necessary but sensible software installed. (Not splattered with the manufactures logos and "How we want you to use our /your new computer rubbish!) It took me a few days to rid my P-Bell of the purple meanie! Put NOD antivirus on the Acer, although Norton AV is bundled if you want to install it! NOD-AV didn't slow it down much at all. Slim design, looks classy, clear bright screen, a bargain at the price. Buy a Dabs value "EDIMAX" wi-fi card about £12 and your all set! I was all setup and de-gooned in 2/3 hrs. Buy One!

i could not beleive my eyes when i saw this product on dabs so i orderd 3 i put one in my show room and it looks just like the laptops you spend £1200 on and the features are not far off eather 15" tft wides screen dvd/cdrw all the features you need buy one before they sell out
