Conveniently positioned at the front of your PC in a spare 3.5-inch bay this memory card reader allows copy/transfer from all four active slots. All commonly available cards can be read, more than 30 types. A USB 2.0 port is included in the front panel providing extra connectivity from the front of you PC. LED's indicate data reading (red) and transfer (green).

I was replacing a duff PSU so I thought I'd update my case and swap out my never-used 3.5" floppy drive for this multi-card reader at the same time.

Installs easy - though check you've got a spare 9-pin USB connector on your motherboard first.

And in use it does its job fine. It takes SDHC cards, btw.

For £9 it's cheap as chips too.

For the benefit of any other first-time users (if having pre-USB2.0 motherboards), it should be made explicit that that reader harness has to connect to a (9-pin) USB2.0 motherboard header, *not* external-type USB. Having anyway purchased a PCI USB2.0 card (with 2 internal, on-card, USB sockets) with it, I then had to search the net for an adaptor harness. Two USB plug - to - 5-pin connector harnesses were found and successfully fitted (one of the ground pins - redundant in this application - had to be pushed back to fit the 4-socket row where the 5th position is a blind 'key'). By the way, PCI cards with a 'motherboard-simulating' 10 or 9 pin header are rare and difficult to find. The unit worked successfully as soon as the electrical interface was completed.
