It takes 3 USB ports to power 1 measly 60GB Seagate Momentus! 2 purely for power and 1 for power + data. That's to use it in USB mode.
I can't use it in SATA mode as I can't get enough power to it.
I had thought maybe the drive was at fault, but no. I have an Icybox USB enclosure which requires just 1 port to power the exact same drive.
This enclosure is messed up.
