Description
This cable adapter allows simultaneous connection of up to four 3-pin fans to single PSU connector and gives a choice of fan operating speed by providing two standard (+12V) and two (+5V) connectors for reduced speed and noise level. It is a simple way of increasing the number of fan connections and providing control over fan speed, which can make high-speed noisy fans significantly quieter.

12v/5v fan power supply splitter. THINGS TO BEAR IN MIND: If your fans already have selectable voltage/ thermally adaptive resistance control, such fans might not start when stepped down all the way from 12v to 5v. Consider instead: http://www.dabs.com/products/zalman-fan-mate-2-speed-controller-45H3.html Thermally adaptive fan speed is better - and there are other ways to achieve this; e.g.: * Thermistor-controlled case fans e.g. Antec SmartCool. * Voltage-controlled 3-pin fan attached to motherboard 3/4 pin fan connector. * PWM (pulse width modulation) fans controlled by motherboard 4-pin fan connector (NOT molex.)
