Description

Akasa NERO classic design combines peak performance and near silent operation. A multi-platform cooler designed for the entire range of current Intel and AMD processors. The four high capacity heatpipes utilize direct CPU contact technology for rapid heat transfer. Direct contact eliminates thermal resistance thereby increasing efficiency. High grade aluminium profiled fins ensure optimum heat dissipation. A piano black 120mm PWM fan is mounted using anti-vibration siliconized rubber pins giving whisper quiet cooling.

The product design has been refined to ensure ultra quiet and exceptional cooling for CPU's up to 150W TDP (Thermal Design Power). It is compatible with the new forthcoming Intel LGA 2011 processors. Akasa (patented) Easy Select Clip with Intel reference push-pin retention is used for no-hassle mounting on Intel LGA775, LGA1155, LGA1156 and LGA1366 platforms - no backplate is needed. AMD Sockets 939, AM2, AM2+ and AM3 are catered for with a cam-lever clip for safe and easy attachment. Performance thermal compound is supplied.

I recently purchased this cooler merely because I read what PC manufacturers in the PC Pilot magazine where using in their machines.Yes, I am a flight simmer.I noticed an immediate difference after this was fitted both in noise and heat production. The fan was tricky to fit, and it is quite large. But overall for the price it is fantastic. Plus it is also compatible with so many more CPUs.

Great CPU cooler, but pretty big.

I was just making my computer and the cooler was so big, it took up some of the RAM slots. I'm sure its a great cooler though.

Very poor cooler for LGA1155

It may be a quiet cooler but mounting it on P8Z77-V S1155 mobo is virtually impossible. The instructions about mounting it on the board are just wrong and I found feeding the flimsy rubber mountings into the mounting holes in the fan when it is virtually inaccessible in the case was very difficult. It took longer to try and mount the fan than to build the rest of the system. In the end I gave up.
