The Ultra Quiet AK-955 uses a hi-engineered omni directional heat sink with full-length ventilated copper core. The new design fan frame provides side ventilation, which increases air induction. Bi-ped fins maximize heat dissipation. The fan uses INTEL approved power management (PWM) with auto fan operation. Intel approved board push pins ensures reliable retention.

No, it is NOT ultra quiet

Running on a P4D at 3.4GHz, cooling is adequate but it is certainly not quiet. Overall it is very similar to, and about as noisy as, the coolers which Intel sometimes bundle with their CPUs. I was looking for a particularly quiet cooler so it's back the drawing board for me.
