Description
Create a multi-user HD home entertainment network through your electrical wiring. Imagine streaming flicker free HD movies, lag free gaming and more all at the same time. No need for special wiring, with Belkin's Gigabit Powerline HD networking adapters, it is that simple.
Powered by Gigle Semiconductor's mediaxtream chip, Belkin's Gigabit Powerline provides a secure, stable networking signal anywhere in the home - even for areas that are hard to reach by wireless connections.
Because of its high Gigabit speeds and consistent connection, Gigabit Powerline reduces online gaming latency and provides large bandwidth, making it ideal for online PC gaming and ultrafast high-quality transmission of multiple video streams delivering content at 1000Mbps of speed.
Create an even stronger network by adding a third or more Belkin Gigabit Powerline HD adapters to your set up. This enables the Xtendnet feature that provides more stability and better performance, essentially making the network "self-healing". The more adapters in your network, the more reliable the connection will get.
Setup of a powerline network is simple with its plug-and-play connectivity: plug one end of the adapter into an available wall socket. Connect the other end to any device with an available Ethernet port (RJ45), such as a gaming console, set-top box, or computer.

Great experience with this kit
Reviewed by Anonymous Review Posted 21/10/2009
I received a set of these 2 weeks ago, also to replace my Netgear 200meg HD kit. My experience has been different to the last reviewer…its more like a parallel between the step up from Wireless-G to Wireless-N or between upgrading broadband. When you upgrade your broadband speed from 8meg to 20meg you don’t expect to max that out but the extra speed does increase your line to a relative degree – ie from 5meg to 14meg in this example. The same can be said for wireless-g and wireless-n difference – N will give you more bandwidth and thus improve speed but it wont get you to the fabled “300meg”. These gigabit powerline work in much the same way, I am now able to stream more on the network without any degradation – something that wasn’t doable with the Netgear 200meg kit! I’m more than happy with these, plus they look the business!

No benefit over current 200Mps products
Reviewed by Anonymous Review Posted 19/10/2009
I replaced a set of Netgear 200Mbs Powerline HD with these new Belkin Gigabit Powerline adapters. Seems like there is no speed benefit over my old set. I was expecting these new Belkins to offer better error detection/better reliability/faster speeds, but they offer pretty much exactly the same as my old Netgear 200mpbs were able to offer. My house is 2 years old, I only get speeds of less than 200 Mbps. Seems like they can achieve 1Gbps if they are right next to each other (20cm apart) and a clean line. Belkin haven't improved error detection/inteference removal. Whats the point?

Disappointing speed and reliability
Reviewed by Martin. Review Posted 30/01/2010
This Belkin "Gigabit" Powerline has been a disappointment. You can always expect actual speeds to be less than the stated maximum, but I measured this product as delivering 80Mbps out of the promised 1000Mps. And that was with two sockets quite close to each other in a house which has just been rewired.
But that is better than my Wireless 'N' network which delivered 25Mps, so it looked like an improvement.
The real problem, which developed about a month after purchase is that the connection becomes unreliable. It drops in and out many times each day. Switching the sockets off and on can help, but it makes the product very annoying to use.
I've given up on the Belkin and have just bought some Devolo 200Mps units to replace it - I hope they will be better.
