Get the Ulead patch

http://www.ulead.com/tech/phasedout.htm Make sure you get the Ulead patch for the VideoStudio software or your DVDs may have out of sync audio.

Great product - but if you get a black and white image - make sure you have the PAL (not NTSC) drivers intalled.

Neat Product but poor software

Drivers installed easy under XP and plugged in USB device which was recognised straight away. CD was slightly damaged so took a few attempts to be read by my DVD drive.
Captured images from VCR without any problems but when played on PC under the Ulead software they were black and white. The Belkin site has a FAQ which tell you how to correct this by changing the default in Ulead to PAL.
The Ulead VideoStudeo 6 is the most difficult software I have ever used. I had to read the manual (that's a first). But after several hours it produced a DVD which plays on several differant machines without any problem. So I guess it does exactly what it says on the tin. Shame about the software which is no longer supported by Ulead!

Ok so it works, the software supplied is difficult to use and very old (2003) I have found it impossible to get smooth video output, and have tried using the bundled software, windoiws movie maker and windows media encoder. Basically it doesn't deliver the results I needed.

Great Black and White

Unfortunately I just couldn't get the capture to work in colour. I got black and white signal on composite with nothing on svideo - despite knowing the output itself was fine. After 6 hours I had had enough and have returned the product and since purchased the Pinnacle Dazzle Platinum (which comes with a bunch of software) which worked fine down both channels.
