Dave Wallis seems to need to connect a USB printer to a computer with a parallel port. This adapter is for connecting an old parallel printer to a modern computer that has USB but not parallel port, so of course it's useless to him.

From the original post, and the photo, I guess the original post is correct? That this is a lead that plugs into a USB socket on a PC and into the Centronics port on an old printer?
If so I'd agree with Tony and Dave - this is not a "USB to parallel port" converter but a "USB to Centronics" converter.

This item is in breach of the Trade Descriptions Act. As Dave Walls says, it does not connect a parallel port, but centronics one.
