Just Great Value !

Spending £60 on a normal PC case will buy you a decent one but rack mounted cases are a very different story. I bought a very similar case 4 years ago, it cost me £80 and the same model today is now £123. This case is almost identical to the one I have already. On these cases there are "ears" to bolt the case on to the rack uprights, I don't need these. On my existing case, although you could unbolt them, the ears and grab handles were in one piece so you lost the 'convenience' of the handles. On the Dabs case, the ears come off leaving the handles in place which is great for handling a fully loaded case when you need to make changes as you inevitably do. The case is well and properly packed for shipping.

Best Value 4U Rack Mount server case
Reviewed by Anonymous Review Posted 06/11/2009
I wondered what I'd get for £60. What arrived was a well built case finished in a matt black.
For the first of my server cases, the job was to transplant an old Pentium dual core mobo to this server case. Couldn't be any easier. Risers screwed in well. I/O shield just clicked into place. So much space.
Then my first problem.
The case has a cage that holds the hard disk. But the cage then got in the way of the huge CPU fan. But this case is huge and there are loads of options for relocating the cage elsewhere!
Then my last problem.
This case has handles at the front, perhaps so you can slide it out of a server cabinet on rails. But the handles meant that the door on my cabinet couldn't be shut. The case looked like it was made from a single piece of granite but it was easy enough to remove the handles.
The fans are a little noisy, but I think that once I’ve put it into the cabinet (and close the door) I won’t notice them.
I’m very impressed!
