Very good value

I bought this to replace a PSU which had died in my 4-year old PC.
Of course for something like a PSU, then you probably want to judge it in 5 years; but my first impressions are good.
It's very good value, very quiet, and I also thought the cables were neat (compared to the the PSU I replaced, which was a mass of tangled wires).
Looks a good buy so far.

550W Gold PSU

Very good product, easy to fit and no new smell. Be aware though that if your dvd drive is not next to your hard drive you will need a Molex 4pin male to SATA 15pin female Adaptor. Bar that very satisfied.

Yes it smells a little at first but works fine

The 'new' smell lasts one or two days. It's powing a server with 2 x 2TB, 2 x 1TB and an old 40Gb for the O/S.
No problems thus far.

A good solid quiet 550W PSU for very little money, Can't fault the unit at all, makes me wonder why i paid 3 times the amount on something that seems almost identical for my own rig.. lets see if it lasts, might have to amend review 1 day. On a side note, Excellent service for Dabs as usual, received product less than 48 hours after ordering on the cheapest shipment method. Been using Dabs for many years, 100% flawless record for me, even on returns unlike another site I wont mention that begins with S and ends with N.

As per other reviewers this is a nice bit of kit, quiet and easy to fit. Only one negative comment and that is that the double SATA power connectors were too close together for HDD and CD/RD in my case. This was easy to overcome with a molex - SATA converter.

Five star buy

Very, very quiet PSU, has more than enoguh connecters and enough wattage tp power most systems. I am running 2xSATA hard drives, 1xPATA hard drive, 1xPATA DVDRW and a Nvidea GTS 250 and the PSU doesn't even get more than slightly warm.
Great buy.

Pretty good for the money

Quiet, plenty of old-style device connectors.
Only one 6-pin PCIe tho, be warned
Good value at 25 quid - you can pay 2 or 3 times that in a high street store.

I was pleasantly surprised

I fitted it in minutes and it really IS very quiet. Unlike another review I couldn't detect any any smell of newness, either. One happy customer.

A cynic humbled

When I read in the advertising blurb 'silent' my interpretation was that it wasn't very noisy and even then I reckoned my interpretation of not very and CIJ's might differ. But the first time I switched it on I thought the fan wasn't working it was so quiet. The CPU fan is noisier so as I can't hear the PSU it is, in reality, silent. It's easy to fit of course, but smelt a bit for a day or two. Top value.

nice and quiet

Nice and quiet fan. Had to cut the standard case(DELL) to get the power plug into the socket of the PSU though as these didn't line up otherwise sits nicely in the case. Also found that the cables were a little on the short side and had to close the case slightly to make the connections. Must remember this when I open it up again. There was a smell of newness that you would get with any electrical item that generates heat. Generally though this PSU is excellent value for the money.
