Great Card, Not so good Hard Drive

From Reading the Reviews that people have written, there is a pattern immerging. Maxtor Drives are Rubbish, I don't think you can blame the card because a drive lags the system or hangs. I have this card and had a Maxtor dive attached to it and it caused so many problems. Then I purchased some Seagate 300Gb Drives and all the problems went away.
So I think for anyone who is planning on purchasing this card I would buy a SEAGATE drive to go with it. But now Seagate have bought Maxtor we should see the end of Crappy Drives.
Ps. I don't see how a PCI Card could cause a PSU to Explode. Perhaps it was the Faulty PSU that caused the card to malfunction ;).

Been using this card to control a Seagate Barracuda 7200.7 80GB SATA150 for the past 12 months with absolutely no problems. Runs nicely under both Windows XP and SUSE Linux.

absolute bargain these controllers are excellent, performance and price wise. i bought 2 i will be buying more! abit of extra info, these little beauties run off the Silicon Image controllers 3112, its compatible with any serial converters that utilise the 3611 bridge chip to convert pata to sata.
