Scanner deluxe

I want to transfer a late family members holiday snaps from deteriorating 35mm slides to a digital format before they are lost forever. I chose this scanner as a cheap quick method of doing so. 1st impressions nicely presented in a tubular container, quick and easy to install and works perfectly with 64 bit windows 7 despite being labelled xp and vista. Results, good considering the condition of the slides although over exposed on faces. The lack of manual control makes it impossible to make any contrast adjustment not even with photo editing software. The provided software is ok, it allows 3 slides to be transferred in one go (annoyingly only after hitting the x to close the window). Operation is via a big button on top which I hit by mistake quite often, or a mouse click. I have also tried transferring negatives but the software doesn’t allow for inverting the negative image which is a little disappointing however this can be overcome using other purchased photo editing software.
