The LinkStation Live II is a Multimedia shared network storage device best suited for environments that need a central location for files that all devices on the network can access. All computers in the network can share files on this versatile, flexible and simple NAS. In addition to the storage capabilities, it can stream multimedia to a PC, a Mac, a Buffalo LinkTheater and other DLNA CERTIFIED media players. The LinkStation Live seamlessly integrates with iTunes 7 and allowing access to music files from your iTunes software.

Massive Improvement!

I bought this as a replacement for a 5 year old Buffalo Linkstation (250gB), which had developed horrendous fan noise and was rather full!
I am so pleased that this one is virtually silent, much faster in loading and saving.
It does exactly what it is supposed to do - serves up files on demand.
On startup it required a firmware upgrade which took over two hours to complete, but this is the only negative thing I can say
