Beneath the lustrous metallic coat lies 2.2 Megapixel power in waiting: both superb quality digital video and a fully featured digital still camera, with an abundant array of advanced features normally reserved for single-purpose devices.
2.2 Megapixel resolution guarantees unsurpassed video clarity and also lays the foundation for photos printable up to 15 x 21cm at superb photo quality.
The MVX30i produces what Canon's engineers call emotional colors - bluer skies, greener grass and attractive, healthier skin tones. As a starting point, an RGB primary color filter does away with image-degrading signal-conversion for truer, more natural colors. To perform the complex algorithms necessary to then record these, all key processing and memory requirements are combined onto a purpose-built DIGIC DV chip. During simultaneous video/still capture, video and stills processing follow two discrete paths.
60 year Canon precision optics heritage are built into the superbly specified 10x optical zoom lens. Remarkable f1.8/2.5 performance means you capture maximum available light, assuring crisp, clear and clean images from one frame corner to the other, even in low light conditions.
A Print/Share button delivers immediate, PC-free direct printing to any PictBridge compatible or Canon photo printer, or effortless file transfers to your computer.
A Super Night LED light allows you to shoot video in zero light conditions, while a built-in flash provides digital still lighting to a distance of up to 2m. And for enjoying it all later, a 16: 9 high resolution mode gives you true wide-screen results.
Easily share clips across the Internet after shooting Motion JPEG movies direct to SD or MMC memory cards. Depending on memory card capacity, up to 60 minutes of QVGA or QQVGA formats can be recorded straight to card or copied to card from DV tape.
FireWire and USB 2.0 terminals allow fast, high quality dubbing, connection to a PC's IEEE1394 port for editing and retouching, direct printing and easy high-speed file transfer of still images and video files from the camcorder memory card.
