Description
Extending Corsair's legendary reputation in performance and quality, the Corsair VX family of power supplies features the industry's most efficient power management and ultra-quiet design for mainstream users.
Unlike most power supplies in the market, the Corsair VX incorporates a single +12V power rail that delivers continuous power under heavy loads. This conservative design ensures reliable operation in today's most demanding system configurations and adds compatibility for future platforms.
The unique combination of rock solid performance and incredible value puts the Corsair VX family of power supplies in a class of its own. Ideal for home theater PCs and ENERGY STAR PCs, the VX line maximizes energy savings and minimum noise generation thanks to double-forward switching circuitry design.

There isn't a better range of PSU's

Simply these are the best you can buy. They are quieter, cooler and just all round better than anything else on the market. The XFX PSU's never actually achieve the efficiency they claim.

Great decision

I'm not really up to speed with PC components now, so this choice was a bit of a gamble - My old box has 4 sata hard drives, 2 DVD drives, a powered AGP graphics card and, yes I still have one, a 3 1/2" floppy drive. After the original PSU died I needed to find a replacement pretty quickly. I picked this one because of the reviews and, basically, it's perfect! More than enough connections, extremely well built and quiet too. Plus, Dabs usual brilliant next day delivery. Don't hesitate to buy one.

Just from picking up the box the quality is clear... it feels about twice as heavy as cheaper alternatives.
Long wires, braided, and with pleanty of SATA power connectors.
Worth every penny.

Quiet with loads of connectors
Reviewed by Anonymous Review Posted 18/02/2009
Put this in a HTPC and it is virtually silent, you can only hear it up close with the case open.
Powers everything I need, the connectors are a bit overkill for me, only used 2 out of the 8 cables available.
Good solid build quality, highly recommended, there are loads of good reviews of this PSU out on the web.

Corsair VX450w
Reviewed by Martin. Review Posted 17/11/2008
Bought this from DABS last week and it has just gone up in price? Still, all the packaging reeked of quality. the fan is about twice the size of the 250w unit it replaced but no louder (and the old one was very quiet). Had to shove all the currently unused cabling into an unused bay out of the way. Fitted in minutes. 5 year warranty in the unlikely event of it dying. Can't say much more. It powers everything and is quiet. Loads of extra sata power connectores and will soon be using the PCI-E connector to upgrade the onboard graphics.

Used many types of PSU from the cheap 'Color' party poppers (plug them in, next day have a party cos' POP!) to the Antec Phantoms but these PSUs are fantastic, very powerful, quiet and reliable. The best PSUs IMHO

Solid, reliable PSU
Reviewed by Anonymous Review Posted 04/12/2007
Replacing my old PSU for a future graphics card, this has proved to be a decent PSU and a solid investment.
The package it comes in is a little over the top; with the PSU inside some kind of cotton sports bag, a 40 page manual (only 5 are in English) and a "Powered by Corsair" sticker.
The amount of cables is a plus and a minus; there's no worry of shortage but because you can't remove unused ones it leaves your case octopus city (particularly in small cases).
Overall though, a very decent purchase, and with 33A on the 12v rails, it's perfect for new DX10 graphics cards.

Does the job
Reviewed by Mark Sheeky. Review Posted 28/11/2007
Well packaged, good manual with lots of extra cable ties and sturdy main cables. The "detachable" ATX12V1 4 pin connector was actually a separate one which was a plus for me. The fan is quieter than my old one but does have a slightly annoying high pitch whine. There's also a whole octopus of cable there, most of which is destined to be redundant, but overall a good solid PSU.
