This card has made a vast improvement to the previous on-board sound card on my HP Pavilion. Near hi-fi performance; fantastic at this price. I particularly like the Crystalizer feature, really tidies up MP3 sound from the Web. Easy software installation and update. One minor irritation when it came to registration: DABS don't include the serial number on their packaging; it's only on the card itself. So unlike me, make a note of it BEFORE it goes in the PC!!!

When my onboard sound failed on my Asus A8N-E motherboard I was really concerned, but on reflection this did me a big favour as it forced me into purchasing this sound card. The audio quality produced from this item is incredible and out performs anything I have been used to before. A superb piece of kit and excellent service from Dabs and their delivery firm. Well done to you all. Ian

So far seems a great sound card replaced my onboard sound which was ok but not great.
In response to the guy who had a PCI device he couldn't get rid of I had the same thing but as soon as I turned off my onboard sound in bios it went away.
Haven't tried the mic yet so no idea if that works or not but overall I think a rating of 1 is unfair :)

Disappointing

Bought to upgrade nVidia onboard sound. Marginally better clarity and detail in games, less seperation and focus on mp3s. NVMixer probably making the difference here, a Creative equalizer being conspicuously absent.
By all accounts a relabelled Audigy rather than an entry level X-Fi extreme.

It will not pick up a microphone, after installing the drivers, windows XP still finds a PCI Device that you cannot get rid of.. and yes I tried installing the latest drivers from creative's website, same story. Very peeved.
