I got this for my new setup, all I can say is wow! It installed Windows 7 less then 5 minutes, loaded up windows in 10 seconds! When installing this into a PC can be abit tricky into the HHD slots because it so small, I only used one screw to hold it in!

Bought a workhorse lenovo laptop for £280. It was acceptable, but slow to boot, virus scan, windows update but generally 'quick enough'. As the laptop is not for games & doesn't need to store photos or videos, 64GB is enough to run windows 7 with no problems.

This SSD transformed the laptop - it absolutely flies. We don't bother hibernating, as it boots from cold just as quick. No more getting a cup of tea while your updates install, it's all done in a jiffy.

The crucial ssd comes with the reliable crucial name, and doesn't rely on compression to do its thing like the sand force drives. It will work in sata 2 or 3 and has a lively support forum and firmware upgrades.

Low ease-of-use as migrating a windows system is still a PITA. For a mac, simply replace the drive in your computer with the SSD, reinstall the OS and migrate your users & apps from your old drive via a usb to sata adapter.

Excellent upgrade for netbook

I bought this SSD to replace the failing hard disk in a Samsung NB30 netbook. Although the netbook came with a 250 GB drive, only 35 GB of space was actually in use. It seemed to me that a 64 GB SSD would be perfectly adequate if I ditched the 15 GB recovery partition. CloneZilla is not much good for copying to a smaller disk so I used the free version of MiniTool Partition Wizard to shrink the main partition. I then copied the 100 MB "system reserved" partition and the main NTFS partition to the new disk, leaving the recovery partition behind. After performing the "Build MBR" operation, the netbook was able to boot from the new disk and I was in business. At first, the computer would periodically freeze up, which was a bit of a nightmare. Thankfully, the problem has not reoccurred since upgrading the SSD firmware from 0002 to 0009. In conjunction with a 2 GB memory upgrade, the Crucial SSD has transformed an underpowered, sluggish netbook into a pretty decent bit of kit.
