RANGEBOOSTER N® ADAPTER BENEFITS
*Delivers up to 12x faster speeds and 4x farther range than 802.11g
*Access secure networks using WPA™ or WPA2™ encryption
*Backward compatible with 802.11g networks
*Easy to install and use with the included Quick Adapter Setup Wizard
Maximum wireless signal rate derived from IEEE Standard 802.11g and 802.11n specifications. Actual data throughput will vary. Network conditions and environmental factors, including volume of network traffic, building materials and construction, and network overhead, lower actual data throughput rate. Environmental factors will adversely affect wireless signal range. Wireless range and speed rates are D-Link RELATIVE performance measurements based on the wireless range and speed rates of a standard Wireless G product from D-Link. Maximum throughput based on D-Link's 802.11n devices.

Perhaps not the cheapest but a nippy little thing

The problem that Mr Bell is having is nothing to do with the USB adapter. It is either the BT Home Hub (only the 2.0 version supports the 802.11n protocol needed to make full use of the 300Mbps connection) or a device that isn't compliant with the N protocol.
To make full use of the 300Mbps speeds, ensure that all wireless devices connecting are 802.11n compatible (look for Wii, DS as well as PCs) and that your router is both capable of using the 802.11n protocol and is configured to do so.
However, even if your wireless network is not fully 802.11n compliant, it will still work perfectly well at slower speeds. The USB cable can be helpful to get the best signal strength and the install was easy and uncomplicated and took only minutes. The drivers installed from the CD first time, and the rest of the install was as simple as plugging into the USB socket and entering the network info.
Nice USB network dongle for a reasonable price for the latest network speeds.

Easy to setup and works fine

Very easy to setup and works fine.
I have not had any problems with it whatsoever. Comes with a USB extension cable too, which was a nice surprise.
Installed drivers from CD, plugged into USB, entered wireless network details and it worked! Up and running in just a few minutes. I am using with D-link N Router so this might have helped. Stable signal strength about 60% with no dropouts.
Works fine for me!

Not Good
Reviewed by mr bell. Review Posted 30/07/2007
Do not waste your money.
This unit caused many problems, unlike my Belkin 54 Mbps unit.
If you like me use a BT Homehub, this only transmits a maximum 54 Mbps WiFi.
So the claimed 300 Mbps is not needed, that’s if it ever works.
Better still use a patch cable from the router to the PC and get a true 100 Mbps.
Or use a Belkin 54/125 Mbps WiFi unit, which works very well.
Have read that the Belkin 300 Mbps unit, is also unstable, unless of course you know better.
Hope this helps,
