No complex configuration is required for installation: plug the adapter into the power outlet, connect it to your computer via the network cable and you are ready to go! Now you can expand your home network at any power outlet in the house using additional adapters. Configuration software for PC (Windows XP, Vista), Mac and Linux is also available for advanced users. The user-friendly software allows individual password assignment for even more security. The dLAN® Highspeed Ethernet II is fully compatible with first-generation dLAN® adapters (14 or 85 Mbps); devolo offers a 3-year warranty.

It actually works!
Reviewed by Bexant. Review Posted 13/01/2010
I have to say, I was dubious that these would actually work. But no, just plug them in, connect one to your modem/router and the other to whatever you want to connect to and bingo, net access from the other room. Some people have stated that you will need to have several of these in order to connect multiple PCs/Consoles, but with a small Switch box at one end, presuming your PCs/console are in the same room, you can bypass this problem easily and cheaply. I for example have my PC, PS3 and 360 in one room, upstairs, connected to the router/modem, with the 4th port from the router going to the Devolo. At the other end, in the living room, I have the other Devolo connected to a 10 port switch, with my wife's PC and our 2nd PS3 connected to the switch, each machine can get access at the same time without any slowdown. Sure, if your machines are rooms apart, you may need more than two of these, but if you can reach all machines, there's no problem using a switch.

Devolo dLAN HighSpeed II Homeplug Kit (Twin Pack)
Reviewed by Ian P. Review Posted 10/09/2009
With an extremely flaky internet connection (I had to move the computer to the beroom while I decorated the study) I was a little nervous about this product. However, within seconds of connecting it up I had a rock solid connection. Absolutely amazing product. If you only have one computer (see other reviews) this is the thing for houses with thick walls.

How many plugs do I need?
Reviewed by Anonymous Review Posted 22/08/2009
The review by Barry F. fails to point out that this is the same with all powerline network adapters - one unit has to be connected to the network you are intending to join to and the 2nd unit must be connected to the network device you wish to join to the network. So to connect one network device (for instance a PC) you need a pair of powerline adapters. If you want to connect more than one PC, and the PCs are in the same place then look for a powerline adapter with more than one LAN connector (for instance the Netgear XE-104). And do not mix powerline adapters from different manufacturers as they will probably not talk to each other.

How many plugs do I need?
Reviewed by Barry F. Review Posted 30/07/2009
Buyers should be aware that if they intend to use this item with an internet modem they will need the two plugs for their first computer. One for the modem and one for the computer. To network two computers will need the 3-pack. I had three computers to network and would have needed four plugs.
