Bundle option 1 - Rack Mount Bracket For Vigor 2820, 2930, VP5300 Range
The Vigor2820 is an ADSL2+ router with 2nd Ethernet WAN. This 2nd WAN can connect to DSL/Cable modem or fiber media converter for policy-based load-balance, fail-over and BoD; it also features advanced bandwidth control mechanisms such as IP-layer QoS, NAT Session Limitation, Bandwidth Borrowed, etc., to allow easy, flexible and reliable access control and bandwidth management.
With hardware-based implementation of the VPN protocol, the Vigor2820 supports up to 32 VPN tunnels using advanced protocols such as IPSec / PPTP / L2TP / L2TP over IPSec with AES / DES / 3DES for encryption and MD5 / SHA-1 for authentication.
The SPI firewall uses Object-Based design to make setting of firewall policies easy. The CSM feature allows more precise and efficient access control for URL / Web Content Filtering, IM and P2P applications.
Vigor2820 model complie with 802.11n (Draft 2.0) standards. They support WEP / WPA / WPA2, encryption and MAC Address Control, Wireless LAN Isolation, Multi SSID and 802.1x authentication. The Wireless Rate Control function can adjust the data rate of each wireless station (client). WDS can help users to extend wireless coverage easily.

Ive had one since December and like all the other Drayteks I have owned over the last 10? years it was simple to set up and works perfectly. Im here today to buy another one for my dad which replace his aeging Vigor2600+. Ive tried all brands and Draytek are the best IMHO. My X had a really crappy (BT) ADSL broadband connection, no router would work with it. BT said the service was fine haha. Only the Draytek would pick up a signal and allow a diagnostic. The BT router and a Dlink router.. (which I rate to be a decent cheap router by the way) failed to get any signal. Ive never tried a Cisco yet so maybe a better router than the Draytek exists but Cisco are mega bucks? Buy Draytek and scorn all lesser makes.

Very good router if you need the features at offers

I bought this router as I wanted more features and control compared to your typical £80 router.
Basic configuration is easy, with your typical menus to connect to the internet. Same thing for network and wifi settings - the setup is easy and you do not have to step into the tons of additional options unless you want to. The UI is ugly compared to many modern routers though.
The ADSL + 3G connections work well (BT ADSL and Vodafone 3G dongle) with automatic switchover to 3G if the ADSL drops. Cool!
I have not tried most of the advanced settings but the configuration options look pretty straightforward if you know what you are doing.
Bottom line: for simple wifi and ADSL connection you can buy good routers for 1/2 the price. However, if you are looking for more advanced ADSL/3G/wifi/firewall/VPN - this is a very good piece of kit which is not overpriced considering all the things it can do.

High hopes dashed

Expected a lot from this high spec router but a) it doesn't have any useful traffic stats display for FUP compliance unless an SNMP client monitors it 24x7, b) it DHCP allocated same ip address to multiple MAC addresses, c) wireless connection just drops for no apparent reason (where BT2700HGV works perfectly), d) ADSL speed is 20% less than BT router, e) documentation badly written and unhelpful for the complex user interface.
