Set up difficulties

This product does work - however the supplied software does not seem to.

Even updating the software from the Edimax website did not help.

The port the software creates and on which you add the printer does not seem to send all the information to the printer - so that the printer knows it has finished printing.

The print queue would not clear, sending the printer (a HP-5550) into error and refusing to print anything except a single page, before needing to manually cancel the document from the queue and restart the printer.

I used the Windows "Add Port" wizard and manually set the IP address and HEY PRESTO - no more problems.

Being a parallel port connection, it is also very slow to start printing, taking about two minutes before anything appears at the printer.

I would recommend trying a USB device instead.

It is cheap and does work if you can stand the frustration of trying to get it set up.

Was tempted to return it as faulty.
