Excellent little box

I used one as an Access Point to add Wi-Fi to an existing network.
No problems at all.
All the security features I would expect are there as well.

Excellent Access Point
Reviewed by Steve. Review Posted 12/12/2009

I am astonished at the price of this AP, very good value for money! Took less than 10 minutes to setup. You really can't go wrong, if you're looking for low cost wireless access at home.

The one thing I would say, is it requires a reboot after every configuration change, which is why it took a whole 10 minutes to setup. Not really a complaint!

Excellent VFM WAP+Hub
Reviewed by TerryE. Review Posted 16/12/2008

I don't normally bother with writing up reviews, but the previous review is so inaccurate that it's nonsense. This does 'what it says on the tin', and it does so for incredible value. I'd downloaded the PDF of the manual before buying it. It's pretty much typical and setting this up was a doddle if you are used to configuring WAPs.

The only slight wrinkle is that it won't pick up its address through DHCP, so you need to statically allocate one, which means that you need to temporarily put cable connected PC into 192.168.2.0/8 to connect and change its IP addr.

As I said excellent VFM.

configuration issues
Reviewed by Beebee. Review Posted 16/01/2009

With a bit of patience this is OK to set up. First thing I did was update the firmware because there were fixes for WEP in it, I have a Wii and DS's in the house so unfortunateley WEP is a must. I bought this to connect the xbox360 (station - adhoc mode), its OK, downside is you cannot unplug the device once you have set it up as currently the firmware 'forgets' which wireless network and security protocol to use so I can see that in the future it is going to be a bit of a pain, Just hope they sort the firmware....all in all though its ok for the money.

Difficult to use
Reviewed by Anonymous Review Posted 07/08/2008

It's taken me three evenings to get it configured how I need it, but it does now seem to be working.
The manual just has screenshots of many of the pages with no explanation at all - completely pointless as you can see the screens through the UI! Also changing one setting can make it 'forget' other settings which all adds to the confusion.

Complete trash
Reviewed by Matt Charman. Review Posted 06/09/2010

It did not work as a repeater unless the wireless network is unsecured. I do not run unsecured networks.

It can't be used to place wired computers onto an existing wireless network.

It also broke after less than 2 minutes use.

Save yourself a load of hassle - buy something else.
