Very Inconvenient!

Be warned, this product is very inconvenient to use. The supplied USB cable is 2.5cm in length! Want to use it with a laptop on your lap? Forget it! Want to connect it to your desktop? Forget it! The thing will just dangle, and drop off! You'll need to buy an additional cable, making it quite poor value for money.

Freecom HD never again

This is the 4th Freecom (FC) HD that I bought. This one is the worse of all. I’ve had problems with it from the beginning. A breafcase is inaccessible from different PC users’ accounts. A friend advised me how to change the settings to be able to do so but FC’s support was not aware of the issue. The biggest problem is that FC HD have problem with the connecting point. It keeps disconnecting from PC on its own and ‘briefcase corrupt’ message pops up. My previous HDs did the same but after about a year. I though it was their usual life span and bought a spare one but this one started doing it shortly after the purchase. One of the old ones I had repaired by a friend and it works fine now. My advice is to go for a good one and not to take the risk. The connecting point with the cable, in the HD is very weak and it just keep disconnecting and connecting without user’s control. Apart from that there are HD on the market that is already NTFS formatted and do not require re-formatting.
