Although this device is on the expensive side compared to the larger units that are available these days, I have found the FREECOM 500 CLassic to be a very good device for my needs.

Transfere speeds are very acceptable.

Look and size are of great advantage to me as I have limited space being condemed to a tight corner in the living room my 'Er Indoors'.

Only having the one USB connection and no mains cable is really great.

This was the main reason I purchased this as I inadvertantly plugged the wrong cable into my Maxtor and ruined the hard drive on that device.

It was going to cost between £450 - £650 to get anything recovered which was beyond my means.

At least I know that I cannot do this with the FREECOM.
