Got the device to work my Mac at home and with the Vista machine at the office. As suggested below I used the Firewire connection and v9 of iDVD and worked without issue. Did a download from the lightscribe website for th mac update and and all was worked fine. 10/10
Unlike the last comment I had no problems getting the burner to work on a mac. I am told to use firewire burners with iDVD you need verion 8 or later. I have iDVD 9 and Mac OS Leopard. The burner worked fine first time. However, I can not work out the lightscribe feature and the burner does not seem to like lightscribe DVDs (including the ones that came with it). I have not tried the burner on a PC yet
It will burn data but this product would not work with iDVD. As it stands, my Mac System Profiler states that Burning is not supported. The software called Toast Lite is provided by Roxio and they wanted money for an upgrade to something called Toast Platinum. The free support centre suggested this is a OEM problem. Otherwise, the software is OK and the product build is nice.
