I had this drive now for approximately 4 month.
I am a heavy user of DVD writers - mainly for backing up my software from several PCs.
Once in a while I have to replace a drive - they seem to wear out after a few years.
This drive has so far been flawless in both reading and writing - something I can unfortunately not say of many others.
I can recommend this product.

Opened the box, plugged it in, it asked for a computer reboot, and it worked perfectly immediately thereafter. Could not have been easier.
