SLI technology
Deliver up to 2x the performance of a single GPU configuration for unparalleled gaming experiences by allowing two graphics cards to run in parallel. The must-have feature for performance PCI Express graphics, SLI dramatically scales performance on 60 top PC games. -
OpenGL 2.1 optimizations
Ensure top-notch compatibility and performance for all OpenGL 2.1 application. -
Microsoft DirectX 10
World's first DirectX 10 GPU with full Shader Model 4.0 support delivers unparalleled levels of graphics realism and film-quality effects. -
Shader Model 4.0
Shader Model 4.0 adds support for indexed temporaries which can be quite useful for certain tasks. Regular direct temporary access is preferable is most cases. One reason is that indexed temporaries are hard to optimize. -
PCI-E 2.0
PCI Express 2.0 - now you are ready for the most demanding graphics applications thanks to PCI Express 2.0 support, which allows up to twice the throughput of current PCI Express cards. -
HDCP support
High-Bandwidth Digital Content Protection (HDCP) is a form of copy protection technology designed to prevent transmission of non-encrypted high-definition content as it travels across DVI or HDMI digital connections. -
HDMI ready
High Definition Multimedia Interface (HDMI) is an interface standard for consumer electronics devices that combines HDCP-protected digital video and audio into a single, consumer-friendly connector. -
GigaThread technology
Massively multi-threaded architecture supports thousands of independent simultaneous threads, providing extreme processing efficiency in advanced, next generation shader programs. -
Quantum Effects technology
Advanced shader processors architected for physics computation enable a new level of physics effects to be simulated and rendered on the GPU - all while freeing the CPU to run the game engine and AI. -
PureVideo HD
NVIDIA PureVideo HD technology lets you enjoy cinematic-quality HD DVD and Blu-ray movies with low CPU utilization and power consumption, allowing higher quality movie playback and picture clarity. -
CUDA technology
NVIDIA CUDA technology unlocks the power of the hundreds of cores in your NVIDIA GeForce graphics processor (GPU) to accelerate some of the most performance hungry computing applications. -
PhyX technology
NVIDIA PhysX is the next big thing in gaming! The best way to get real-time physics, such as explosions that cause dust and debris, characters with life-like motion or cloth that drapes and tears naturally is with an NVIDIA PhysX-ready GeForce processor.

This is a fantastic card but make sure you have enough space to fit one. I ended up having to take a hard disk out of my case to get the card in.
It says it’s a PCIe 2.0 card but it will work on a standard PCIe x16 slot.
Make sure you have enough power connectors and a reasonable power supply (~500W). If you haven’t got two 6-pin power cables you need four molex connectors, the adapters to convert the molex power cables into the 6-pin connectors, 2x Molex = 1x 6-pin power, these are included in the box (no need to by additional adapters). The performance, even on my PC is fantastic, I upgraded from a GeForce 8500GT.
There is overclocking software provided, not that you really need it as the card is already running faster than the standard 260.
Go on, buy one, you know you want to.
